At first, the pipe conveyor is accepted because it is a form divided from universal materials handling forms. Now the pipe conveyor is standard. The pipe conveyor is the best solution for transporting grain materials. The application of pipe conveyor is unlimited. If people could think, the pipe conveyor could solve it. We think that any materials could be transported by pipe conveyor. The common materials used by pipe conveyor include mineral, coal, coke, limestone, macadam, shale, alluvium and etc. Some materials could be transported by pipe conveyor such as steel concentrate, petroleum coke, clay, waste residue, concrete, metal, coal ash, tailings, alumina and dust filtration. 
The pipe conveyor's obvious advantage is turning in minor radius, which could reduce the silhouette. The pipe conveyor is restricted by surrounding idlers. So the pipe conveyor will not have the off-tracking phenomenon, compared with the common belt conveyor. The pipe conveyor could curve in vertical plane and horizontal plane at the same time, which cancels the transshipment point. The pipe conveyor could pass the barrier. The two ends of the conveyor must be straight. The bending radius of pipe conveyor is determined by the diameter of pipe, belt type and etc. The engineer will make analysis on static state, dynamic condition of conveyor, and curving type. 
In general, the pipe conveyor will coordinate with stacker reclaimer, apron feeder, screw conveyor to complete the transportation of materials.
