Mining Equipment Maintenance Tips
As we all know, the preparation mining equipment could be divided into crusher(cone crusher, jaw crusher, box-type crusher, impact crusher and etc.), grinding machine, screening machine, separating machine, dewatering machine and other various production lines. The screw conveyor has played an important role in mining industry. So here I want to share some tips about maintaining conveyors.
Things to look for can include foreign materials trapped or hung anywhere near the belt surface, unusual noises that are sometimes hard to detect due to noise levels in the facility, or visual damage that has not been noticed during earlier inspections.
Also remember that areas of the conveyor that are not easily accessible are the areas that are consistently missed during inspections, so make the extra effort to check these areas.
Another part of the conveyor maintenance puzzle is stocking conveyor replacement parts. While the need to stock every part of a conveyors make-up is unnecessary, it would be wise to stock common-wear items and items that could potentially stop production due to availability/lead time issues. The cost of buying these parts in advance can definitely outweigh the possibility of a production line shutdown.
Compared with the common belt conveyor, pipe conveyor has the following advantages.
(1) The pipe conveyor adopts the sealing conveying, which could leave out the cost of building gallery of common belt conveyor. At the same time, it could prevent materials from rainwater and wind blow. And the harm to environment could be avoided.
(2) The pipe line could bend in horizontal plane or vertical plane, the max angle of bending reaching 90 degrees in horizontal plane. The minimum bend radius is 300 times as long as pipe diameter.
(3) It could be designed to large inclination conveyor, the max inclination reaching 30°.
(4) The pipe conveyor could leave out related mechanism of transfer point applied in common belt conveyor, reducing the investment of equipment.
(5) Return stroke could be designed to convey materials.

(6) It is particularly suitable for long distance, steep and rough terrain, swerving terrain. The economical efficiency and practicability are its obvious features. It is widely used in the power plant, port, mining and other complicated topography areas.
