Transport capacity is an important indicator of measuring the capability of screw conveyor. The transport capacity could be calculated through the following formulas:

Q——transport capacity (t/h)
S——pitch，m
D——diameter of screw blade (m)
N——speed of spindle (γ/min)

ψ——activity coefficient
The friction and adhesiveness of materials, screw pitch, and center line inclination of screw conveyor influences the activity coefficient.

1. For the materials that are flowing and not wearing( such as flour, grain), ψ=0.45；

2. For the materials that are with graininess or small pieces and partly wearing(such as salt, sand), ψ=0.33；

3. For the loose and dense materials that are easily wearing and corrosive(such as slag, gravel, ore), ψ=0.15.

About the control operation of conveyor components is as follows:
Take-up device is one of the conveyor components. Take-up device includes screw take-up device, gravity take-up device, jinny take-up device, automatic tensioning device. Each has its own advantages and disadvantages. They could be respectively applied in different belt conveyors.
